Brabender Technologie - Bulk material supplied from above passes a constant-speed impeller wheel driven by a three-phase current motor, diverting the material radially. The tangential Coriolis force acting on the wheel blades causes drive torque changes in proportion to the flow rate sensed by a load cell. Based on torque and speed, the Congrav® microcomputer computes the current flow rate, which is both displayed and issued as a signal for recording or control of a variable-speed upstream feeder (e.g. screw feeder, rotary valve).[Click to view site]
